What is PE?
PE rattan, also known as polyethylene rattan, is a synthetic material commonly used in the manufacturing of outdoor furniture. It is a type of synthetic resin that mimics the appearance and texture of natural rattan, which is derived from palm plants.
PE rattan is made from polyethylene, a durable and weather-resistant thermoplastic polymer. It is formed into thin, flexible strands that resemble the wicker-like weaving pattern of natural rattan. These strands are then woven around a frame to create furniture pieces such as chairs, sofas, tables, and lounges.
One of the primary advantages of PE rattan is its ability to withstand various weather conditions, including exposure to sunlight, rain, and humidity. It is resistant to fading, cracking, and peeling, making it well-suited for outdoor use. Additionally, PE rattan requires minimal maintenance and can be easily cleaned with soap and water.
Compared to natural rattan, PE rattan is more affordable and offers a wider range of colour options.
